Lucy is a 40-year-old marketing manager at a fast-paced e-commerce startup. She recently had to deal with the loss of her father. The death of her father came as a shock for her and grief started manifesting in her body. She was restless, finding it hard to focus. Every week she was having a flu, her shoulders ached, and she had difficulty in sleeping. A friend recommended she should try drinking Aloe Vera. For three months she took a 50 ml glass of Aloe Vera. The first three weeks she took the aloe Vera religiously in the morning on an empty stomach. On her fourth week, she noticed changes to her body- her shoulders stopped aching, her runny nose cleared up, she found herself having more energy and she was sleeping 6 hours through the night peacefully. She continues to drink Aloe Vera. Her skin has improved and the energy aloe Vera gives her is now motivating her to start an exercise regime.

Aloe Vera goes by many names- superfood, the plant of immortality, the desert of the lily etc.

It is used to make natural food flavouring, cosmetics, food supplements, and herbal remedies. The earliest record of human use of this plant comes from the Ebus Papyrus in the 16th Century B.C. Through history it has been known for its medicinal and health properties. The Chinese used it to treat burns, wounds and reduce fever. Alexander the Great used it to treat wounded soldiers. Cleopatra used aloe in her skin treatments. It was grown by King Solomon. Americans used aloe to treat radiation. It is the most studied herb and plays a vital role in improving health and nutrition.

Aloe Vera is 96% water and therefore hydrates your body. It has 18 of the 20 amino acids that the body needs. It also has important vitamins and minerals- A, B, C, E, B12, folic acid, choline, calcium, copper, selenium, chromium, manganese, magnesium etc. These are nutrients that are required for the smooth functioning of the body’s systems.

Aloe Vera works well with your body because it has lignin. This is a substance that penetrates the body cells to feed them with nutrition.

The benefits of Aloe Vera are too numerous to mention. Here are some known benefits of Aloe Vera:

  • Nutrition – It has almost all the essential nutrition your body needs; amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. That is why it is known as a super food.
  • It is antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal.
  • Fights digestive disorders such as heartburn, gas, acidity, diarrhoea, constipation and boosts your appetite while still keeping your weight in check.
  • Regulates blood sugar
  • Clears up acne and other skin conditions
  • Boosts immunity. Its rich levels of antioxidants makes it an immunity-enhancer.
  • Anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is the root of most diseases. Aloe has an amazing number of vitamins and minerals to fight inflammation. This also helps relieve the pain of stiff joints.
  • It is rich in vitamin A, and can, therefore, improve your eyesight.
  • It alkalizes the body i.e. disease does not manifest in an alkaline environment.

As a general rule of thumb, drink one month’s volume in Aloe Vera for every year you have suffered from an ailment e.g. If you’ve had hypertension for 5 years, drink aloe Vera for 5 months as part of a well-balanced junk-food-free diet. If you suffer regularly from colds, or poor digestion, it may take longer for Aloe Vera to take effect than for the person who is in a better state of health.

Health-conscious people, who have tried to drink aloe Vera juice unsweetened and undiluted, describe the taste as “bitter bile juice”, “petrol-chemicals” and even an “old plastic container”. The taste can discourage someone to enjoy the nutritional benefits of the plant. That’s where Tuti yogurt comes in! It gives you the best of both worlds: maximum nutrition and great taste.

Tuti yogurt is made using a combination of Aloe Vera, probiotic cultures and reduced-fat milk. Aloe has the super food nutrients while yogurt is rich in Vitamin D and good bacteria (probiotics) that help improve digestion. Whether it is for the overall health of your body or for treating a particular medical issue, take Tuti yogurt to get the full nutritional value of aloe Vera and yogurt.
